Formula 1 is set to return to Africa in 2030, with Rwanda hosting a Grand Prix. An agreement has been reached for a new permanent circuit near Kigali, with plans for construction underway. This marks the first F1 race in Africa since 1993, when the South African Grand Prix was held. The Rwandan government has expressed interest in hosting the event since 2024, aiming to enhance the country's motorsport profile. An official announcement regarding the Grand Prix is expected later this year.
