Formula 1 revine în Africa. Înțelegere pe 10 ani semnată cu Rwanda pentru găzduirea unui Mare Premiu • Newsweek România

Formula 1 is set to return to Africa for the first time since 1993, following a 10-year agreement with Rwanda to host a Grand Prix. Races will commence in the early 2030s on a newly constructed circuit in Bugesera, near Kigali. The circuit, designed by former F1 driver Alex Wurz, aims to utilize the area's hilly terrain for an exciting racing experience. F1 President Stefano Domenicali called the agreement a historic moment, emphasizing the sport's long-term commitment to Africa. Rwandan President Paul Kagame highlighted the project's potential to create jobs and boost local development, aiming for lasting benefits beyond just the race weekend.
