The majority of investments, 95%, were in Romanian assets, primarily in lei, including government bonds and stocks listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Contributions in July 2026 totaled 2.01 billion lei, with an average contribution of 437 lei. Government bonds accounted for the largest share of assets at 152.09 billion lei (61.6%), followed by stocks at 75.51 billion lei (30.6%). The total number of participants in these pension funds exceeded 8.5 million, reaching 8,553,656.
