Fondul Monetar Internațional schimbă radical prognoza pentru România. Economia intră în recesiune în 2026, inflația urcă la 8,2%
The IMF has significantly downgraded its economic forecasts for Romania, predicting a contraction of 0.5% in GDP for 2026, compared to a previous estimate of 0.7% growth. Inflation, unemployment, and current account deficit projections have also worsened. The average inflation rate is now expected to be 8.2% in 2026, while unemployment is projected to rise to 6.5%. The current account deficit is anticipated to reach 7% of GDP in 2026. The IMF's outlook for global growth remains unchanged at 3.1% for 2026, driven by investments in technology and infrastructure, despite geopolitical tensions affecting economic activity.
