To cover losses, the fund liquidated all leveraged stock positions, including holdings in SK Hynix and CoreWeave, which were acquired at a discount by Citadel. Initially, the fund had achieved over 1,000% returns since its 2024 launch, but high leverage, reportedly up to 400%, exacerbated losses amid falling AI sector stocks. Critics pointed out Aschenbrenner's lack of investment management experience and warned of inevitable corrections due to high debt levels. Most remaining assets are in private companies, particularly Anthropic.
