Focșani – Brăila va avea benzi de urgență ca pe autostrăzi
The Focșani – Brăila Expressway, a 4.3 billion lei project, will be Romania's first expressway with proper emergency lanes. The design phase is currently underway, following a recent update to technical standards aimed at enhancing road safety. The new specifications include widening the road platform to 23 meters, allowing for two emergency lanes of 2.5 meters each. This change addresses safety concerns observed on existing expressways, particularly the DEx12. The project will connect key routes and is expected to start construction this year, with expropriations already initiated for affected properties.
