FMI prognozează scădere economică de 0,5% pentru România, după o prognoză inițială mult mai optimistă. Presiune crescută pe buget
The IMF has downgraded Romania's economic growth forecast for 2023 to a contraction of 0.5%, down from previous estimates. The forecast for 2027 has also been reduced to a growth of 2.2%. Romania and Ireland are the only European countries expected to experience a GDP contraction this year. The IMF has also revised its expectations for Romania's current account deficit and inflation rates, predicting a deficit of 7% of GDP and an average inflation rate of 8.2% in 2026. Unemployment is expected to rise to 6.5% in 2026 before slightly decreasing in 2027. These updates were released during the IMF and World Bank's autumn meetings in Bangkok, where global growth forecasts were slightly improved due to strong performance in advanced economies, particularly in Asia.
