FMI: Europa Centrală şi de Est are nevoie de reforme pentru a-şi îmbunătăţi potenţialul de creştere - Economica.net

Central and Eastern European countries must implement reforms to boost economic growth amid demographic pressures and challenges from Chinese exports, according to an IMF representative. Economic growth forecasts for the region have dropped to an average of 2.5% by 2026, down from around 5% prior to EU accession. The IMF official emphasized the need for these countries to diversify trade, increase labor market participation, and accelerate innovation in artificial intelligence. Additionally, transforming energy, climate, and defense sectors into growth engines is crucial, rather than relying heavily on suppliers from the US or South Korea. The upcoming EU budget may provide opportunities for these changes.
