He stated that he receives numerous invitations as a parliament member, some covering travel costs. Manole emphasized that he flew economy during his ministerial tenure to ensure public funds were respected. He addressed questions about the presence of a Constitutional Court judge on the flight, stating he did not organize the guest list. The trip included various political and business figures, raising concerns about propriety. Sorin Grindeanu, another PSD member, suggested it would have been better if Manole had not participated in the flight.
