Finlanda taie cablurile de internet care duc spre Rusia. Ce se va întâmpla din 2027

Starting in 2027, Finland will cease maintenance of electricity poles supporting fiber optic cables used for international internet traffic to Russia. Fingrid has notified Russian telecom operators about this decision. The maintenance is no longer viable after the halt of electricity exports to Finland in 2022. Approximately 60-70% of Russia's external internet traffic has passed through Finland, and up to 30% of telecom connections between the two countries rely on these lines. Russian operators are exploring alternative routes, but the shutdown may impact communication quality in northwestern Russia. While other routes exist, the reduction in options could lead to congestion and slower internet access for users in European Russia.
