Sheep and goat farmers can receive funding of up to €50,000 for investments aimed at preventing and combating diseases in their farms. The non-repayable public support can cover 90% of the eligible project costs. The Agency for the Financing of Rural Investments (AFIR) has released a draft guide for the DR-21 intervention, which focuses on enhancing biosecurity in sheep and goat farms. This measure is part of the PAC Strategic Plan 2023-2027 and aims to address challenges in the sector, including export restrictions. Eligible investments include purchasing equipment for disinfection and establishing sanitary filters. Farmers must meet specific criteria to qualify for funding, with a total allocation of €9 million planned for the upcoming funding session.
