Finalul PNRR: Se redeschide circulația feroviară între două orașe din vestul țării, deși lucrările nu sunt gata

Rail traffic between Timișoara and Lugoj will resume on August 31, despite ongoing construction expected to last until 2027. The project, part of the PNRR, has a budget of 1.91 billion lei and aims to modernize the railway infrastructure. The first phase is complete, allowing for the reopening of 51 km of newly electrified track. Train travel times vary from 80 to 121 minutes depending on stops. Future works include further electrification and modernization of signaling systems, with the goal of increasing train speeds to 160 km/h where feasible.
