FIHR: Turismul are nevoie de management, nu doar promovare
The Romanian Federation of Hospitality Industry (FIHR) calls for closer collaboration between local authorities and private operators to enhance tourist destinations. They emphasize the need for clear objectives, predictable funding, and industry involvement in decision-making. Discussions held in Cluj-Napoca and Târgu Mureș highlighted the importance of Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) in setting development priorities. FIHR also addresses the ongoing labor shortage in the hospitality sector, advocating for tailored training programs and simplified access to employment resources. They stress the need for better communication between tourism operators and regulatory bodies, alongside addressing waste management and food waste issues. Recent data shows a decline in overnight stays, indicating structural challenges in Romanian tourism that require joint efforts for improvement.
