The Atacama Desert, known for its aridity, has bloomed with flowers due to heavy rains from El Niño. This rare event has allowed dormant seeds to sprout, resulting in over 200 plant species flourishing. The region experienced record rainfall, leading to a vibrant landscape transformation, covering approximately 17,000 square kilometers. This phenomenon, termed 'Desierto Florido,' is expected to be the most significant since 1997, despite causing flooding and chaos in other areas of Chile.
