Experts warn of potential wind intensification and heavy rainfall in U.S. regions. El Niño conditions are favorable for such storms, driven by warm ocean waters. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts a 69% chance that the El Niño event in 2026 will be the strongest on record, with extreme weather already being felt globally.
