A woman was caught at Otopeni Airport attempting to travel to Dublin with a fake Hong Kong passport. During checks, authorities found her real passport discarded in a restroom. The incident occurred on October 11, 2026, when she was selected for additional screening. The authentic passport had a valid long-term visa from Slovakia. The Border Police did not clarify why she used a false document despite having a legitimate one. On the same day, three other individuals were also found with false documents at Otopeni and Cluj airports, including a man with a Vietnamese passport that did not belong to him. Investigations are ongoing to determine the identities and circumstances of these cases.
