Two men, aged 29 and 34, were detained by DIICOT prosecutors for human trafficking and pimping. One victim was allegedly exploited sexually in various counties and abroad, while the other engaged in prostitution in Sibiu. The older suspect recruited a woman in Spain under false marriage promises, coercing her into prostitution across Europe. The younger suspect facilitated prostitution for his partner in multiple Romanian cities. Evidence was seized during searches in Ilfov, Ploiești, and Giurgiu. Prosecutors have requested a 30-day preventive arrest for both suspects.
