FDA autorizează primul dispozitiv autonom care poate recolta sânge
The FDA has authorized Aletta, the first autonomous blood collection robot, under the De Novo process. This system uses infrared imaging, ultrasound, and Doppler technology to identify veins while avoiding arteries. Aletta automates the entire blood collection process, from applying the tourniquet to dressing the site. A phlebotomist supervises the procedure and can monitor up to three devices simultaneously. The technology is already in use in Europe, with further studies planned before its commercial launch in the U.S.
