Fără concert de Ziua Limbii Române în Republica Moldova. Guvernul de la Chișinău reduce cheltuielile pentru evenimente culturale
The authorities in Chișinău have canceled the concert planned for the Romanian Language Day on August 31 to cut costs related to the 35th independence anniversary celebrations. The decision was approved by the government, with a more modest concert scheduled for August 27. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan emphasized the need for budget reductions, stating that the celebration can still be meaningful without significant spending. The Ministry of Culture confirmed the cancellation, noting that a national dictation event will take place instead. Discussions about funding sources led to this decision, as the Ministry of Finance did not support reallocating funds from cultural institutions.
