Fanii „Harry Potter” au obținut devierea unui cablu electric de milioane de lire sterline, pentru a proteja „mormântul lui Dobby”
Fans of the 'Harry Potter' series influenced the rerouting of a major underwater cable project to protect a memorial for Dobby. The Greenlink interconnector, valued at £430 million, connects the UK and Ireland. Initially, the cable's path was set to pass near Dobby's memorial, leading to public outcry. Project manager Simon Ludlam acknowledged the unexpected backlash after realizing the significance of the site to fans. The route was adjusted to avoid both the memorial and archaeological finds from the Bronze Age. The memorial, created by fans, remains a popular site, with the National Trust allowing its preservation while urging visitors to avoid leaving items for environmental reasons.
