Factorul „Gotland”. Mutări pe flancul baltic al NATO
On August 26, 2026, Sweden received its first four Archer 8×8 self-propelled howitzers, part of a program to enhance artillery capabilities. These systems are crucial for southern Sweden and Gotland, providing long-range firepower and mobility. The howitzers will support training and future wartime formations, with additional units expected by 2030. Their strategic importance lies in their ability to quickly reposition artillery and strengthen defense in the Baltic region, especially against potential threats from Russia. The Archer system combines a 155 mm artillery system with an 8×8 protected truck platform, capable of rapid deployment and high firing rates.
