Fabrica în care s-a născut Dero, unul dintre cele mai cunoscute brand-uri din România, demolată • Newsweek România

The Dero detergent factory in Ploiești, a symbol of Romanian chemical industry since 1966, has been demolished after 60 years of operation. Initially opened on the site of the former Xenia refinery, it became a significant production center after being acquired by Unilever in 1995. Dero gained immense popularity, with market studies showing a package sold every second in Romania by the mid-2000s. However, in 2023, production of powder detergent ceased due to market changes, leading to the relocation of operations. The demolition of the factory began in 2026, marking the end of an era for the brand.
