The establishment of an AI factory in Bucharest aims to enhance Romania's position in the European AI ecosystem, fostering research and innovation. The RO AI Factory project, initiated on September 1, 2026, will involve significant investments and is expected to be fully operational by mid-2027. It will provide high-performance computing infrastructure for AI development and testing, in collaboration with the Politehnica University of Bucharest. The project emphasizes the importance of cybersecurity and international cooperation in advancing AI technologies. A workshop on AI governance and digital transformation is being held in partnership with South Korea, focusing on institutional solutions and collaboration opportunities.
