The European Commission has approved Romania's plan to resume sheep and goat exports, which had been halted due to health concerns. The plan includes the provision of 1.3 million free vaccine doses and a differentiated vaccination strategy based on regional epidemiological risk. The approval allows for the reopening of markets for livestock exports while ensuring that the rest of the country maintains its disease-free status. The Romanian authorities have already secured agreements with several non-EU countries for future exports. The plan aims to support farmers affected by the previous export ban and includes measures to combat illegal animal trade.
