Romania is experiencing a significant energy export, with a net export of 2,397 MW due to high solar and wind energy production. This situation is temporary, as the country typically imports energy during peak evening hours. The current low consumption of 4,500 MW allows for this surplus to be exported. Hydroelectric power is underperforming, while gas and coal plants contribute more than expected. Electricity prices fluctuate greatly, from nearly zero during the day to 200 euros in the evening when renewable sources diminish.
