Explozie la Uzina Mecanică Sadu din Gorj

A workplace accident occurred at the Sadu Mechanical Plant in Bumbești-Jiu, injuring a 54-year-old employee due to an explosion in the pyrotechnic area. The incident happened around 8:30 AM while the worker was manufacturing initiation explosives. The explosion resulted from a hose used to empty a precipitation vessel. The employee sustained first-degree burns, shrapnel injuries to various body parts, and a fracture in his right leg. He was transported to the Târgu Jiu Emergency Hospital for treatment. The explosion also shattered a window in the workshop, but no other injuries were reported. The incident has been reported to the Gorj Territorial Labor Inspectorate, which will investigate the circumstances of the accident. This is not the first incident in this area, as a similar accident occurred last year, resulting in minor injuries.
