Explozie la Uzina Mecanică Sadu

A workplace accident occurred at the Sadu Mechanical Plant in Bumbești-Jiu, injuring a 54-year-old employee during an explosion in the pyrotechnic area. The incident happened around 8:30 AM while the worker was manufacturing initiation explosives. A hose used for emptying a precipitation vessel exploded, causing first-degree burns and injuries from shrapnel to various body parts, along with a fracture in his right leg. He was transported to the Târgu Jiu Emergency Hospital for treatment. The explosion also shattered a window in the workshop, but no other injuries were reported. The incident has been reported to the Territorial Labor Inspectorate, which will investigate the circumstances of the accident.
