Explozia preţului gazelor în Europa s-ar putea transfera mai rapid în inflaţie - BCE - Economica.net
The European Central Bank (ECB) reports that natural gas price surges will impact eurozone inflation more rapidly than before, but electricity prices will be less affected due to increased renewable energy production. Natural gas prices have risen over 140% compared to last year, driven by geopolitical tensions and low storage levels in Europe. The liberalization of gas markets has led to quicker consumer price adjustments. A survey indicates that over half of eurozone countries see gas price changes reflected in inflation within one to three months. Despite rising inflation exceeding the ECB's target, electricity prices are less sensitive to gas price fluctuations due to a shift towards renewable energy sources. Countries reliant on natural gas for heating are now rushing to fill storage, further driving up prices, which may lead to increased heating and electricity costs for households and businesses, thus fueling inflation.
