The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) is investigating new corruption cases linked to Romanian mechanical plants under ROMARM, with the director of Cugir Mechanical Plant, Augustin Mircea Trifan, already facing charges. Following a case involving bribes at Bucharest and Plopeni plants, DNA has expanded its inquiries into other facilities suspected of corruption. Trifan allegedly accepted €10,000 to expedite payments for contracts with a commercial entity. The investigation also includes Tiberiu Pîrvu, director of Plopeni, who was previously found with €500,000. The ongoing probes highlight a network of corruption amid Romania's military procurement efforts, with significant sums allegedly funneled through business associate Marian Voinea.
