Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey conducted the Tomis 2026 maritime exercise in the Black Sea, focusing on emergency response scenarios. The exercise tested cooperation in illegal migration, search and rescue, marine pollution, and fishing control. Various agencies, including Frontex and EMSA, participated, enhancing the capabilities of the involved authorities. The exercise aimed to prepare for civil threats at the border, such as human trafficking and drug smuggling. Minister Cătălin Predoiu emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration with European agencies to address migration challenges.
