The consolidated general budget execution for the first seven months of 2026 showed a deficit of 48.08 billion lei, significantly lower than the previous year. This reflects a 37% nominal reduction and a decrease in GDP percentage from 3.99% to 2.34%. Revenue increased by 11.2%, while expenditures rose only by 2.9%, indicating effective fiscal management. Key revenue sources included VAT and property taxes, with notable growth in EU funds. Total expenditures reached 460.39 billion lei, with a significant portion allocated to social assistance and investments, particularly from European funds. The results signal fiscal stability and responsibility, enhancing Romania's credibility in both domestic and international markets.
