Ominimo and Zurich Insurance's subsidiary have initiated the process to distribute RCA insurance in Romania. This marks Ominimo's entry into the Romanian market as a digital insurance platform. They have submitted necessary documents to the Bureau of Insurers of Vehicles (BAAR) for approval. DA Direkt, the entity formed by this partnership, plans to collaborate with major local brokers. The approval process may take until the end of the year, with a potential launch in December or later. DA Direkt will operate under the Freedom of Service model, allowing direct sales without a local branch. This new entry could challenge existing market players and regulatory authorities.
