Four defendants involved in the embezzlement of the Romanian Agricultural Trade House have reached plea agreements with the National Anticorruption Directorate. These agreements, pending judicial approval, suggest prison sentences ranging from two years and four months to three years, all suspended. The investigation revealed fraudulent activities leading to a loss of approximately 10 million euros, including fictitious sales and the purchase of second-hand equipment misrepresented as new. The case highlights significant financial mismanagement within the state-owned company, which was established to support local agricultural production but has instead incurred substantial losses. The trial is set to begin on October 1, 2024.
