The iconic eagle and griffins have returned to the University Palace in Bucharest after over 80 years, marking a significant restoration milestone. Weighing approximately 1.6 tons, the bronze sculptures were crafted by sculptor Alexandru Siminic and his sons, reviving the original designs lost during World War II. This restoration is part of a broader project aimed at preserving the architectural heritage of the building, funded by the Ministry of Development. The project emphasizes the importance of historical accuracy and the architectural identity of the University Palace, originally designed by architect Alexandru Orăscu in the 19th century.
