EXCLUSIV | Eșecul DIICOT în capturarea drogurilor din Portul Constanța, de 25 de ani

In the last five years, Romanian authorities seized significant amounts of drugs at Constanța Port, including 202 kg of heroin and 16 tons of fruit pulp containing cocaine. This port has become a new route for drug trafficking from Asia to Europe. Over the past 25 years, a total of 20.46 tons of drugs have been captured, with the largest seizure being 8.63 tons of hashish in 2001. Despite these efforts, Constanța remains vulnerable due to inadequate scanning systems and police presence. Comparatively, other European ports like Antwerp and Rotterdam have seen much larger drug seizures. Recent reports indicate that Romania is increasingly targeted by drug trafficking networks, particularly through maritime routes.
