Reports indicate that over 30% of the thesis contains uncredited text from various sources, including works by members of the evaluation committee. The investigation follows a formal complaint and aims to assess potential violations of academic ethics. The committee has 45 days to conclude its review, and findings will be published on the university's website. Pahonțu's thesis, defended in 2003, has not yet been checked with plagiarism detection software, as required by educational regulations.
