Many drivers dissatisfied with rising RCA prices have managed to secure lower rates than initial offers by using a high-risk insured mechanism. In the first half of this year, around 7,400 vehicles benefited from cheaper RCA, a significant increase compared to last year. However, only those classified as high-risk insured can access this option. To determine eligibility, drivers must request quotes from multiple insurers and compare them to the reference RCA rate. If the quotes exceed the reference rate by 36%, they can approach the Bureau of Auto Insurers for a better price. The Bureau does not issue insurance offers but calculates a recommended premium based on the reference rate and the lowest quotes received.
