In 2026, the Romanian Ministry of Culture plans to invest approximately €100 million in the renovation and modernization of cultural buildings, with nearly half allocated to the National Theatre "Marin Sorescu" in Craiova. This initiative is part of a broader project aimed at preserving cultural heritage and is financed through agreements with the Council of Europe Development Bank. Several other cultural sites, including museums and theatres, are also set for rehabilitation, with ongoing projects at various stages of implementation. The "Cultural Foundations" project, operational from 2026, aims to save historical monuments and develop new cultural facilities.
