The Brașov Philharmonic will host a concert on October 15, 2026, featuring Aram Khachaturian's Symphony No. 2, also known as "Symphony with Bells," after over 54 years. Conducted by Sergey Smbatyan, the concert will also showcase violist Tomoko Akasaka performing Bohuslav Martinů's Viola Rhapsody-Concert. Khachaturian's work, composed during WWII, reflects on the tragedy of war and is characterized by its dramatic contrasts and orchestral intensity. This event marks a significant return of a historical piece to the Brașov stage, highlighting Smbatyan's role in promoting Khachaturian's legacy.
