Evaluarea tehnico-financiară pentru Bala 2, suspendată temporar. MTI: Comisia Europeană şi Comisia Dunării au semnalat o serie de aspecte tehnice privind documentaţia depusă

The Galati Waterway Administration is currently revising the technical-economic indicators for the Bala 2 project, which aims to increase the Danube's water level to support the cooling of the Cernavoda nuclear power plant. This project was put on hold due to environmental concerns raised by NGOs and the European Commission. The project has been under scrutiny since the complete shutdown of the Cernavoda plant on August 13 due to low water levels. The government has extended the state of energy alert, and the project is now being updated to address technical issues and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. The total investment is estimated at over 1 billion lei, with a planned implementation period of five years.
