Eurostat: Românii care nu-și permit o mașină, în scădere

The percentage of Romanians who claim they cannot afford a personal car has significantly decreased from 15.6% in 2024 to 8.1% in 2025, according to Eurostat data. This marks a 7.5 percentage point drop, nearly halving the previous year's figure. Over the past decade, the proportion has fallen from 35.5% in 2015, with a notable decline despite a temporary rise during the pandemic. Romania's current figure remains above the EU average of 5.5%, with only a few countries reporting higher percentages. The statistic reflects financial constraints rather than actual car ownership, indicating a broader trend in mobility access and economic conditions.
