In June, retail trade volume increased by 1.2% in the EU and 0.7% in the eurozone compared to 2025. Romania, Belgium, and Germany saw declines. Food and beverage sales rose by 0.7%, while fuel sales dropped by 4.1%. Luxembourg, Sweden, and Bulgaria reported the highest increases. Month-on-month, retail trade fell by 0.1% in the EU and 0.3% in the eurozone. In Romania, retail sales rose by 0.5% due to fuel and non-food sales, but food sales decreased by 3.1%. Year-on-year, retail sales in Romania dropped by 5.7%, influenced by declines in fuel and food sales.
