Romania's minimum wage remains among the lowest in the EU, with only Bulgaria and Latvia having lower rates. As of July, the minimum wage in Romania is 825 euros, while Bulgaria and Latvia have 620 and 780 euros, respectively. Luxembourg leads with the highest minimum wage at 2,771 euros. Despite this, Romania has experienced one of the highest annual growth rates for minimum wage in the EU, at 11.6%. The minimum wage increased to 4,325 lei per month from July 1, 2026, reflecting a 6.8% rise from the previous level.
