According to Eurostat, Romania has the highest percentage in the EU of people unable to afford a meat, poultry, fish, or vegetarian meal every two days, at 18.1%. This figure is more than double the EU average of 8.5%. Romania also leads in the inability to pay for a personal internet connection, with 6.2% of the population affected. In contrast, Cyprus has the lowest percentage of people facing food insecurity at 1.2%. The data highlights significant disparities in living conditions across EU member states, particularly affecting vulnerable groups. The report emphasizes the challenges faced by Romanians in accessing essential goods and services.
