Eurostat: 18,1% dintre români nu își permit o masă consistentă o dată la două zile
In 2025, Romania had the highest percentage in the EU of people unable to afford a meat-based meal every two days, at 18.1%. This figure is more than double the EU average of 8.5%. Romania also ranked highest for households unable to pay for a personal internet connection, with 6.2% affected, compared to the EU average of 2%. Significant disparities exist among EU member states regarding access to basic necessities. The data highlights the challenges faced by vulnerable groups in Romania, as reported by Eurostat in the 2026 edition of "Key figures on European living conditions."
