Europarlamentar român, după alegerile din Saxonia-Anhalt: „Exact asta i se va întâmpla și PSD-ului”

The recent elections in Saxony-Anhalt saw the far-right AfD party achieve significant success, raising concerns about the rise of populism in Europe. Romanian MEP Siegfried Mureșan highlighted that this trend could impact future elections in Romania, warning that parties imitating extremists, like PSD, risk losing credibility. He emphasized the need for pro-European solutions to counter populism, citing Moldova's success in confronting extremist forces. The AfD's victory, with nearly 44% of the vote and record turnout, reflects growing discontent with the current German government and positions the party close to regional power for the first time since WWII.
