Europa cumpără rachete Patriot fabricate în SUA pentru Ucraina. Ce țări contribuie la noul pachet de sprijin
Several European countries are preparing to purchase US-made Patriot interceptor missiles for Ukraine to enhance its air defense ahead of winter, amid expected Russian attacks. This initiative follows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's request for 300 interceptors. The package is being negotiated under NATO's PURL mechanism and will be discussed at an upcoming Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting. The UK government has pledged an additional $135 million to the PURL program, with part of it allocated for Patriot missiles. Zelensky welcomed the UK's contribution, emphasizing the urgent need for additional interceptors. The EU has also approved a request allowing Ukraine to use a €90 billion loan to buy these interceptors, reflecting ongoing challenges in strengthening Europe's defense industry.
