A brutal heatwave in Southern Europe has led to the evacuation of around 30,000 people due to wildfires in France and Spain. In France, over 18,800 individuals were forced to leave their homes as a significant wildfire raged near Bordeaux, destroying more than 3,700 hectares. Spain declared a national emergency as wildfires spread in Madrid and Ávila, displacing approximately 10,000 residents. The extreme heat has resulted in record temperatures, with some areas exceeding 44 degrees Celsius. Climate change is exacerbating these conditions, leading to more frequent and severe wildfires across the region.
