Euro atinge o valoare record. Cursul explodează înainte de decizia S&P. Și dolarul crește față de leu cu 10 bani în câteva zile

The euro reached a record high against the Romanian leu, surpassing 5.34 lei, as the National Bank of Romania reported a rate of 5.3447 lei. This depreciation occurred ahead of S&P's rating decision for Romania, which could result in a downgrade to 'junk' status. The US dollar and Swiss franc also appreciated against the leu, while the price of gold rose significantly. Additionally, Romania's foreign exchange reserves fell by 4.8 billion euros by the end of September. BNR's spokesperson noted that while volatility is expected, the rapid depreciation may not continue. Concerns about a potential downgrade have led to investor caution and capital outflows.
