Eugen Iovan, avertisment dur după oprirea Turceni
The Turceni power plant has halted electricity production due to issues with its only operational unit, Group 5. The shutdown was necessary after employees identified a leak in one of the boilers, posing a risk if the unit continued to operate. This incident reduces the national energy system's output by approximately 220 MW. Union leader Eugen Iovan highlighted the aging equipment's frequent failures, noting that the plant has not seen significant investment in years. The repair process is lengthy due to high operating temperatures, and staffing shortages have forced management to retain retired specialists to maintain operations. The plant's operational challenges are exacerbated by a significant loss of personnel in recent years.
